Note: Retail Partners Co., Ltd. does not publish an English results presentation; this article is an English translation of the Japanese-language article on our sister site Investalk, which is based on the company’s Japanese-language IR materials, with figures transcribed as reported. Retail Partners’ fiscal year ends in February; this site classifies the most recent completed fiscal year as FY2025, while the company’s own materials label the period as the fiscal year ended February 28, 2026 (2026年2月期). For the fiscal year ended February 28, 2026 (consolidated), Retail Partners recorded operating revenues of 278,197 million yen (up 11,456 million yen, or 4.3%, year on year), a record high. Gross profit and gross operating profit also reached record levels, marking three consecutive years of revenue and profit growth on a gross-profit basis.
On the other hand, operating income was 6,468 million yen (△5.2% year on year), ordinary profit was 7,557 million yen (△5.5%), and profit attributable to owners of parent was 5,138 million yen (△1.7%), resulting in higher revenue but lower profit. According to the materials, in addition to the impact of rising store operating costs such as electricity charges, factors behind the profit decline included upfront investments such as “investment in people” (higher personnel expenses) to improve employee engagement and secure human resources, the start of operations at the “RPG Miyazaki Logistics Center,” which optimizes the logistics base in the South Kyushu area, and M&A-related acquisition costs associated with Nagano Co., Ltd. joining the group to expand area market share. Nagano Co., Ltd. has been included in consolidated results from the third quarter of the fiscal year ended February 28, 2026, and the company expects Retail Partners’ combined share of food sales in Miyazaki Prefecture to reach approximately 12.5% going forward (third in the prefecture; source: 2025 Food Supermarket Yearbook).
