Consolidated Results (Fiscal Year Ended February 2026, Actual)

Net sales increased by 26,044 million yen year on year on the contribution of the stores taken over from Seiyu and growth at existing stores. Gross operating profit rose by 6,533 million yen, as growth in gross profit was joined by higher tenant income from tenant recruitment led mainly by the developer division. SG&A expenses increased by 6,093 million yen on aggressive investment in people such as personnel costs, but were controlled within plan through productivity improvements and a review of the cost structure, and operating profit secured a year-on-year increase of 439 million yen.

Medium-Term Management Plan

Following the 2020 management integration of AEON Hokkaido and Maxvalu Hokkaido and the 2025 succession to Seiyu’s Hokkaido business, a new five-year medium-term management plan running from fiscal 2026 to fiscal 2030 has started. Under the previous medium-term management plan (fiscal 2021 to fiscal 2025) the company achieved its target of 380.0 billion yen in directly managed sales, while operating profit came to 8.3 billion yen against a target of 15.7 billion yen, a shortfall of 7.4 billion yen, and ROE was 5.1% against a target of 10% or more, a shortfall of -4.9pt. The reasons cited are surging utility and other costs and a rise in the personnel expense ratio due to aggressive wage increases. The new medium-term management plan calls for 70.1 billion yen of store investment and 12.3 billion yen of infrastructure investment over the five years, for total planned investment of 82.4 billion yen, and states that it will put operating profit back on a recovery track. Fiscal 2026, the first year of the plan, is positioned as a year of “challenge”, with efforts focused on three items: the evolution of each business format, reform centered on merchandise, and the building of a strong business foundation.
