Nikon Corporation reported revenue of ¥677.1B for the year ended March 31, 2026, down ¥38.1B or -5.3% year on year, and swung to an operating loss of ¥112.4B from operating profit of ¥2.4B a year earlier. Segment Results
In Imaging Products, revenue was ¥290.0B and operating profit ¥16.7B, down ¥24.6B or -59.5% year on year. Nikon states sales volumes grew, mainly in the volume-zone “Z5II” and “Z50II” and its first digital cinema camera “ZR”, which incorporates technology from RED, but revenue and profit declined on the one-time costs described above, tariff impacts, lower ASPs driven by product mix changes and increased promotional spend in the face of intensifying competition. Precision Equipment revenue fell ¥34.7B to ¥167.2B on lower sales volumes of FPD and ArF dry and immersion lithography systems, and the segment posted an operating loss of ¥4.5B. Healthcare revenue was ¥111.9B with operating profit of ¥1.5B, down ¥5.2B, as Life Science Solutions revenues contracted due to stagnation in the core US market. The Components Business was the one segment to grow profit, with revenue of ¥76.1B and operating profit of ¥9.5B, up ¥2.4B or +33.0%, on increased sales of video measuring systems for electronic components and semiconductor applications and FPD photomask substrates. Digital Manufacturing revenue rose ¥4.7B to ¥28.0B on increased sales of SLM’s large-format metal 3D printers and FX tailwinds, but operating profit dropped ¥91.0B to -¥106.2B due to ¥90.6B in impairment losses and ¥0.6B in restructuring costs.

By segment, Precision Equipment is expected to return to an operating profit of ¥12.0B on revenue of ¥188.0B, as a decline in FPD lithography system sales volumes is offset by an increase in semiconductor ArF dry and immersion lithography system sales volumes; the digital lithography system “DSP-100” has secured its first order and the first unit of the new ArF dry lithography system “NSR-S333F” was shipped. Digital Manufacturing operating losses are expected to narrow to ¥4.0B, and Nikon states that SLM is to turn profitable in FY2027/3 and the total segment in FY2028/3. Imaging Products operating profit is guided slightly lower at ¥16.0B as soaring memory prices and other factors weigh, despite FX tailwinds and the disappearance of one-time costs booked in the previous year. Note that from FY2027/3 the Components Business was renamed the Industry Business, and Nikon Vision Co., Ltd. was transferred from the Industry Business to the Imaging Products Business, with FY2026/3 figures in the forecast table restated to reflect the segment change.
